Emergency Management Specialist
Location: Downtown LA
Schedule: fully onsite | Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Duration: Temp-to-Hire
Salary: $22/hr - $25/hr
Job Description: provides administrative and operational support to the Safety and Emergency Management department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Coordinate Campus Safety support for special events; supporting emergency preparedness, training, drills, exercises, and Emergency Operations Center activities; and assisting with including Timely Warnings, Emergency Notifications, and Red Flag notifications.
* The position will manage and monitor the department's internal email accounts, including Campus Safety, MountAlert, and Emergency Management accounts; maintain the Campus Safety website and manage daily posting of crime-report information; maintain the Daily Crime and Fire Log and Daily Red Flag Log; and review crime reports to ensure incidents are properly logged, documented, and filed with all required supporting documentation.
* The position will also monitor emergency management, public safety, weather, and community information sources, including the National Weather Service, Watch Duty, Nextdoor, Citizen, FEMA, and other relevant emergency management and crime-monitoring websites and applications, and identify information that may affect University operations or campus safety.
* Additional responsibilities include scheduling and coordinating committee meetings and other departmental meetings as needed and providing related administrative, recordkeeping, communication, and operational support.
